Tammy's Story

Life 4000 character spaces and I don't know where to start... It's been more than 20 years since high school, I can't believe it. I got married in 1990 and had one daughter in 1992 and one in 2000. No, the difference in age was not a planned thing.. Just happened. I moved from Jonesboro (where I lived when I was in school) to McDonough in 1995. And, I think everyone else I went to school with moved to Henry County since we graduated. I currently live in Hampton. I was married for 16 years, my spouse (Brian McGaha) passed away in July of 2003 in a swimming accident. It's been very difficult, but I am a very faithful and spiritual person with wonderful family and friends who have helped me get through this. Ok, people can change. I started going to church about 8 years ago (Methodist church in McDonough). So, I am proof that a hellian can turn out okay =) Oh, if we only knew then what we know now (right).....We would all do things differently and if you say NO you are lying.....I have worked for the same company for 15 years. I am a Credit Manager for a manufacturing company not too far from the airport. I telecommute on Thurs & Friday's.... I LOVE the company I work for, they are so giving and treat their employees GREAT (hard to find these days). I would love to go back to college, but I still hate school (did then, do now)... I would really like to get my real estate license in the near future and try that on the side. Maybe, one day if I ever get re-married I could do real estate full time. I have dated for about 2 years now... And, the single life at 39 is not what it's all cracked up to be.... It's tough, being single at 19 and knowing nothing is one thing. But, to be single at almost 40 and have life's experiences, widsom, knowledge behind you is another..... I hope one day to find someone else I can fully love with all my heart. I believe it will happen, when the time is right. I t...Expand for more
ruly believe everything happens for a reason. I miss Brian, every time I look at our girls it makes me sad (for them and him). They have changed so much in 3 years, I wish he could see them now and talk to them.... But, it was his time to go and that's all there is too it. Life must go on. I am a believer and a survivor..... Brian passed away 5 days before his 35th birthday. I literally went from planning a birthday party to planning a funeral. Never having anyone close to me (other than one old grandparent), this was a sudden tragedy that changed my life forever. I have a website and I wrote a small auto-biography about my life with Brian and what happened the day he died. My website is press-on.info. There, I have some information and a link to order my book. And, I am trying to put something together in the community where I can reach out to those who have lost a young spouse. It happens every day, unfortunately. I try to always do the right thing, to be a good mother, good daughter, good sister, good friend, good worker, etc.... Life is so short, I know I will not be remembered by what I have, but rather how I have treated others. So, if I mistreated you in school I am so sorry (I deeply apologize). Please forgive me, as I was young and stupid..... I am thankful for everything I have in my life. I have so much to be thankful for. I have two beautiful, awesome daughters. They go to Eagles Landing Christian Academy... No way would I let them go to a Henry Cty public school... Sorry, but I just feel that private school is a much better atmosphere (not perfect, better)......My girls are so different, one very quiet and reserved (nothing like me) and the other is wild as a buck (the younger one)... The younger one is my pay back... So, always remember what comes around goes around (it's so true)..... I wish everyone in the class of 1985 true happiness and good health. God Bless you!! Tammy
