Tammy's Story

I hope old friends remember me as young, thin, and singing. I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a dreamer's idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. My favorite way to relax is to curl up with a book or crossword puzzles. I never did anything in school, wild or otherwise, that I'm proud of, and certainly won't list any of them here. My hero is my father, who just passed away in March of 2009. I have one son. He's a super senior at Anderson University, and the best musician I know. He's the music director at my church, and I sing and play guitar in the praise band with him on keys and vocals. I'd love to see Mr. Miller again, because I had such a huge cruch on him. If I won $100 million, I'd give a tithe of it to my church, then spend the rest on Danny, Frankie and Selenia, my son and stepchildren. Hated college. My current age is 51. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ready to croak. I was so completely wrong. Hired on at Anderson Post Office in 1979, transferred to Noblesville Post Office in 1992, became Postmaster at Ingalls in 2004, promoted to Postmaste...Expand for more
r in Atlanta in 2007. Plan to stay there til retirement in 2012. No clue what happened to my first crush, Chuck Hodges. I do wonder every now and then, though... My best friend would tell you I'm juvenile, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as responsible. Can't talk about style when you wear clothes over size 16. They don't make pretty clothes for fatties. I share my home with my husband, which I find messy. If I had one do-over, I would have found Jesus before I hurt anyone. In 10 years, I hope to be my son's roadie. I'm going to get there by threatening. My oldest friend is Debbie Walters Summers Smith. We met when we were 2 years old when I saw her and her mother walking down the street and followed them home. I think we clicked mostly because she was a leader and I was a follower. My first job was at the Anderson Library, where I got paid $2.90 to check out customers' books. What I remember most about it is being required to share teabags.. A childhood memory I'll never forget is playing "Let's Go Find The Ghost" at night in the summer at Chuck Wainscott's house with the neighborhood kids.
