Tamra's Story
School
High school was a very hard time for me as with many people. My parents were going through a terrible divorce, it turned me into an emotional roller coaster. I depended on my friends and boyfriend, David for emotional support. I have very unhappy memories of high school and I am so glad it is over. I never really fit it anywhere, although I tried. After college, I traveled all over Europe, lived all over the states and different countries. It was an amazing experience. I think I was searching to "belong somewhere", just wanted to be liked. I guess you have to like yourself before anyone else can truly care for you. I like my life now and am very thankful the friendships that I have been able to maintain...Carol Pampinella and Gina Barrco, and Renee Cappillino! cholette party, but you couldn't change my mind!! :)
College
After high school, I went to University of Bridgeport in CT, then to University of Miami, FL and graduated from Marist College,NY. I think I never really felt like I belonged anywhere, always caught between two worlds. I finally found my way and I am very happy with my life.
Workplace
I still work at Frederick Memorial in the Emergency department. I stopped working at the employee health nurse after Gavin was born. That whole day care thing killed me. I am presently President of the Emergency Nurses Association in Maryland! I absolutely love being a nurse. I worked in medical sales, probation department and even did family counseling, but being a nurses is so physically and mentally demanding, but it has so many rewarding times that it is worth it.
