Tawne's Story
Enjoying the simple things defines me. I am often found in my own backyard watching the stars & planes in route to LAX, while sitting next to a moon lit fire. Not bad for a gal living in a typical suburban community, Thousand Oaks, Ca.
I'm passionate about my two daughters, Emilly Cole Newcomb (16) and Natalee Lou Newcomb (10). Favs include Yosemite, sunsets and watching birds. I enjoy music...of many different venues. Riding on the back of a motorcycle is great fun, I hope to ride on my own some day. I adopted an Arabian-Morgan horse named Dolly, & enjoy trail riding. I have not mastered the fine art of English riding, although I have not given up. I enjoy putzing around, as well as doing absolutely nothing at all. Yoga fits well in my life.
That I am a fairly simple and straight forward gal from the mid-west. Old fashioned, with a lot of spunk. About me: Strolled thru UofM the long way...collecting various majors and working in pathology and medical research labs. Purchased my first home & joined corporate America in '81... Pharmaceutical sales with Syntex, to Hospital Rep for Glaxo, to Regional Sales Mgr for Milton Roy Diagnostics over 14 states.
Opened an Urgent Care & Medical Center in '89, Cala...Expand for more
basas, Ca...it is still going strong. Came to California engaged, then married... then found out it was a "complicated story". Oh well, what is life without a few challenges?!! For years it seemed as if life was a definite California soap-opera. Fortunately, even though we were not meant to be life mates, we have succeeded in working together as friends raising our two wonderful daughters. Fundamental understanding and respect does seem to bring out the silver lining in most any situation.
I re-tooled my education at UCLA to become a Preschool Director. Slowly working my way to a PhD. Goal: to become a professor of Early Childhood Education, specializing in the "Healing of Dysfunctional Cycles" & Behavioral Analysis while I travel my way through retirement. Currently volunteering in numerous kid related programs, working on a children's book, a novel and a script, mini-series at best. Enjoying friends and life. As the saying goes... "Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get."
That is my story.... and I'm sticking to it. Life is a journey!! For me, from the sandbox and now back to the sandbox. What fun. Please share your story with me.
