Ted's Story

Life B.S.E. Michigan 1970 M.S. Caltech (Physics) 1973 Ph.D. Caltech (Theoretical Physics) 1977 Research fellowships including in 7 years in England and 4 in Toronto. Currently Staff Scientist at Oak Ridge National Lab and Prof. of Physics, Univ. Tennessee. Have appeared on CNN and been cited by NY Times and USA Today regarding my research on exotic mesons. Married since 1987, one daughter, Sietske. Other interests include ancient history, astronomy, collecting coins and minerals, and languages. I moved back to the USA in 1989 and have been a staff scientist at Oak Ridge National Lab and a Prof.of Physics at the University of Tennessee since then. I spend too much time attending conferences and workshops in the US, Europe, and recently in Japan, China and Korea. I also managed to be interviewed on CNN and was quoted in the NY Times and USA Today for some of the things I have been doing recently. Since I am a theorist, nothing I do actually explodes. (Just kidding. I mainly work on the theory of quarks and gluons, which are relatively safe.)
