Ted's Story
Well, in preparation for the upcoming reunion, thanks to Cindy's reminder, here's my story, in hopes that we can spend more time reminiscing than catching up. For recent and current events, feel free to read my family blog (chapins.blogspot.com).
I live in Gorham, Maine with my wife and 2 kids. Here's the 2-minute version of how I got here. Got a BS at UMass in Wildlife Biology. Met my future wife, Chris, in senior year. Got a graduate position at UMaine in Wildlife Ecology. Chris and I got married while I was in grad school. Got my MS in 1995, and we decided to start a family right away. Got a job in Buffalo, NY where Chris was from and lived there for 5 years. I was a GIS Analyst for an environmental consulting firm. That was a skill I learned in grad school. Maine, which we both missed. So we both got jobs in Portland, made the move, and here we still are. I am now a GIS application developer for an engineering firm, which means I write software for mapping and spatial analysis. We love the city, the Maine coast, and our neighborhood and town.
That's the short version. I'd be happy to fill you in more if you're interested. The most significant thing to happen to me since high school has been having kids. I won't dote over them here because I'm sure you all have great kids too (and the blog's mostly about them anyway), but needless to say they have changed my life in every imaginable way - for the better!
