Ted's Story
Life
Hi Folks! Today is Anzac day in Australia - a public holiday celebrating the Australia & New Zealand Army Corp failed invasion of Gallipoli, Turkey. I am at home, sitting in my underwear and a t-shirt, and thought that this would be a perfect time to update my biography. (I hope that's a nice enough visual for you!)
I moved around quite a bit after high school - Lake Arrowhead, Long Beach, San Diego. Somewhere down the track I got involved with an Australian gal and had a son, Jordan. I moved back and forth to Australia for a bit, and landed in San Francisco for a year and a half. San Francisco is a little bit different from Orange County, so even though I hated it while I lived there I look back on it and realise that it was probably a good experience overall and taught me tolerance.
On one of my trips to Australia visiting my son, I met my future wife, a beautiful Australian lady named Nicole. I moved to Sydney in November 1999 and we now live in a townhouse in Mona Vale and have a couple of dogs. Nicole works near home and I work in Sydney, which is about an hour away. (The commute is getting to me and I think I will buy another bike for the drive - boy some idiots never learn!)
Jordan is now 9 yo and ...Expand for more
is with us every other weekend and every Monday night. He is a great kid, very handsome and intelligent. Jordan plays rugby, and I wish I could help him but I am absolutely useless at it. We go camping and 4x driving, although not as often as we would like to. We also play Halo 2 on XBox, and the little son of a gun kills me ruthlessly! No respect!
Scott Chesebro's brother, Aaron, lives with his wife and two kids in Kiama, a city a couple of hours south of Sydney, and we see them about monthly. It's really nice having Aaron out here and our two families really enjoy each others company.
I am the CFO for an advertising and media agency, and I enjoy my job. The company has been through the some troubles and I have been brought on board to help turn things around. I work more than I would like, but we are currently in the process of restructuring the business and rebuilding the business model.
I love living in the northern beaches of Sydney, it's actually very similar to Orange County, except that everyone that works at McDonald's is white and you drive on the wrong side of the road. I miss my friends and making trips down to Mexico.
If you're headed down-under (or even if you're not!) drop me a line! Cheers, Ted
