Ted's Story
Military-
When I joined the Air Force in June of 1966 I was unaware of what direction I would take regarding an occupational goal. Several things changed that fact in those early years:
(1. Marriage in Jan. 1967
(2. My 1st child, Ted Jr who was born December 19, 1967
(3. Becoming a Christian in June of 1968. Each one of these steps was important to the next. But the last step changed my whole life and existence from that point. Before I was discharged from the Air Force in 1970, I surrendered to the call of the ministry. Today, by God's Grace, I am in the ministry, having learned many life lessons along the way.
I am thankful for my four years spent in the Air Force. When I enlisted, I had not a clue as to my life ambition and when I was discharged in April of 1970 that had changed. I am especially thankful to early Christian friends like Sgt. Ralph Humes and Sgt. Dennis Winfield along with friends like civilian Robert Bray. Over the years I have discovered that God's Grace is sufficient!
Present Life-
Jan (Janet Sterner) and I married in November of 1990 after meeting once more at our 25th Class Reunion. Since then we have moved a number of times after I returned to the ministry in August of 1993. My life work has taken us from Iowa to Texas, back to Iowa and now to NW Missouri not far from St Joseph, MO as of September of 2009. I Pastor Fillmore Christian Church and we live just 2 blocks from the church building. We plan on retiring here as this has become our home since we purchased a house in June of 2010. It is my prayer to preach as long as God gives good health and a sound mind.

Our Children-
Between Jan and I we have 6 children who have blessed us with 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Jan has 3 boys live in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area while Teds daughter lives near Des Moines, Iowa and Matt has an apartment on their property in Fillmore. TedÂs oldest son, Ted Jr passed away in July of 2010.
Hobbies-
Together, Jan and I, enjoy antiques, museums and traveling around the country side as time allows. For myself, one of my personal hobbies is photography. Interest in this area re-developed around 1994. I use a Canon digital SLR camera which allows for sharp clear photographs. I find great satisfaction in not only taking photos but editing them using Photoshop 7. Photography has become an integral part of my ministry as many of my photos are used for Church purposes of one sort or the other. But I also have a ton of family photos, plus enjoy taking pictures of old barns, churches, windmills and about anything which catches my eye. I love the capability of digital photography to take and edit photos!
Summary-
It does noÂt seem possible that we have been out of school for almost 50 years. That number seemed so far in the future back in 1965. I hope your life has been good in the ensuing years since our graduation. More so, I pray you know Christ and are serving Him. I would love to hear from you. God's Grace is not only Sufficient it is GREAT!
