Ted's Story

Quite a life so far. Left WHHS in '68 to finish up at Jersey Prep in Newark, followed by a disastrous semester at Hope College. Then four years in the Far East and Vietnam. Got out, married, settled in Denver until that marriage blew up. That started a 20+ year roller coaster with a career in computer graphics systems and homes in Alabama, Houston, Europe, Philadelphia, California, then back to Colorado. Lotta luck, three marriages and some pain - finally found some of the inner peace that eludes a kid living in an alcoholic household. High school (particularly WHHS) was not a life highlight of fond memories, and that probably transmitted to those few of you that might remember me. In fact, WHHS soured me on school in general, although I pursued a BSME for awhile in the late 70's, until the money ran out and I found myself single. After ...Expand for more
that - it was all career-focus, common sense and effort, but it turned out pretty well. Feeling the loose end not having a degree, I returned to school in 2000 and burned my way through a BSBA, MBA and finally my doctorate in management - pretty much back-to-back - and actually enjoyed every minute of it. On reflection, life has evolved well for me and the future remains positive. I never knew about the 40th ... might have gone. It would have been interesting to see if I cast the non-presence I felt at the time - I wasn't a part of any group, really, and would be surprised if more than a few remembered me, even though I authored a commentary column for the Patriot called 'Canned Ham.' I'd have been interested to see who had traveled, worked, and settled outside NJ. To read more - have a look at my LinkedIn page, or tswoodrow-at-icloud.com .
