Tedra's Story
Life
Tom Thomas ('62) and I have been married 41 years this July 13th. Tom and I are both contractors and have worked together for the majority of our marriage. We will never retire. Tom mainly does HVAC and my license is in remodeling.We certainly not empty nesters!
We have our middle daughter, Carolyn Beth Knowlton, living in our aparatment with our grandchildren, Ian, 7 and Tedra, 4,also two cats, Cat Daddy and Gidget. Carolyn's husband, John, is with the 278th, Tennessee National Guard and has been deployed. He felt it was wiser for the children and Carrie to be with us and we agree. It has certainly been a blessing and wild also!
We normally have two indoor cats, one outdoor cat and two indoor dogs. The dogs: Cleo, a albino boxer and shepheard mix, and Boo a TN dog. The cats are mostly Persian mix, Pusser Wusser, a functioning neurotic and Sir Winston Waddles - you can imagine his looks - he watches TV sitting up and looks like all he needs is a cigar and a brandy. Our eldest daughter, Michele, is a graduate of University of Tennessee in Logistics. She is currently employed by Chainalytics in Atlanta. She is a consultant and at present is working out of Dallas for Pepsico. Which brings me to the other inhabitants of our home. Her dog and cat! The dog is Jake a Welsh Pembrokeshire and Yellow Cat. Yes, That means we have too damn many animals, but we are good parents, albeit crazy.
We also have a son, Tom Jr, currently employed at Dollywood. He lives in Grainger County Tennessee. The aforementioned Cleo, Boo, and Pusser Wusser were his. He escaped, they were left behind.
I have: held my real estate license, drapery design, private pilot license, Received my AA from Daytona Community College, attended UT, worked as an Office Manger and managed our businesses.
Life has been good and Carrie awarded Tom and I with the Medal of the Roller Coaster as we are never still. I would not change anything in my life, nor would I be a teenager again for anything, but, I do have fond memories of NorMi.
