Laura's Story

I hope old friends will remember me a a nice, quiet girl. I always wanted to be a mom when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a silly idea. As it turns out, they were right, but I did it anyway and don't regret a second of it! I like to play senseless games online to blow off steam. The thing that helps me relax most is to read a good book. I never really did anything wild in school. I was pretty laid back and easy-going. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have peace, quiet, and minimum interruptions to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My children and grandchildren are my heros. They are the most awesome things that God has ever put on his green earth. They inspire me to go on with my life every day. I have lived in Kingsport, TN, to Nashville, back to Kingsport, and now live in Forsyth, GA which is a little town halfway between Macon and Atlanta. I moved there because that's where my husband lived when I married him, but some day, I'll get back to Kingsport. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Mrs. Hale, because my third grade teacher was awesome. I don't really have any obsessions other than Facebook, lol. My grandchildren are my obsessions. The biggest surprise of my life has been that I was actually able to find a REAL man to marry! If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a new master suite. My dream home would be very large!. My children have taught me patience and forgiveness. They've taught me what REAL love is. There's no greater love than that of a mother for her children. I'd love to see Mrs. Hale again, just because she was so sweet and I loved her so. If I won $100 million, I'd...Expand for more
give 10 million of it to animal rescue orgs., then spend the rest on friends, family and helping veterans.. To be truly happy, I would be on a deserted island, living simply with my family. My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old and gray. I was so completely wrong!. My first crush? Probably Willie Estep, lol. All the girls loved him. We're still friends to this day. My best friend would tell you I'm insane, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as sweet.. I share my home with a husband, and a Chow Chow. If I had one do-over, I would finish college and have a career as well as my family. In 10 years, I hope to be slimmer. I'm going to get there by hard work, diet and exercise..ten years later...I'm not. My oldest friend........Teresa Murph Bright. We met in first grade and have been going strong ever since. That was so long ago, I don't know why we clicked, but judging from the way we are today, I'd say it was because we are very alike in our thinking whether we admit it or not. What about me would surprise everyone at my high school reunion? Hmm. That I really didn't understand how beautiful I was in high school, now that I do, it's gone, lol. Also that I have grown up to be very country. I live a simple life AWAY from people and that's how I like it. My first job was at Pal's in Lynn Garden, where I got paid $2.73 an hour to cashier, cook, and work the counter.. What I remember most about it is it was a lot of fun and I had a lot of good times there.. A childhood memory I'll never forget is sledding down the hill on Rogan Street at night when it would snow so big in winter. Good times.
