Tena's Story
I married Chuck Smallwood in April 1975, we started dating in 1973. We moved to a one bedroom house on a mountain in Harpers Ferry, WV in 1978. We thought we were never going to have children. Our first child, a daughter, was born in December 1980. Our second child, a son, was born in January 1983. We moved to Falling Waters, WV in 1984. It is a much larger house. Chuck was a crane operator/truck driver until he broke his back and became disabled in November 1999. I was a housewife until 2001 when I went back to work at many different retail places. rt for about a year, I like the job and the people I work with very much, I plan to stay at this one. I am selling electronics and cell phone contracts.
Our first grandson was born to our daughter on my birthday in May 2003. Our second grandson was born to our daughter in October 2006. Our third grandson was born to our son four days later. We are all living together in the same house right now. I would love to sell this house and move to smaller houses for each of our children and their families. Chuck and I could do well in a small house together, as long as our family were still close by.
