Teresa's Story
Life
I taught church school (gr. 1-4) 3 years before I got married in 1976 to Dean Thompson, he was a logger/truck driver from Idaho. We had a daughter, Kayla, in 1982.
I taught church school again when Kayla entered first grade. Was her teacher her first 4 years, as a matter of fact.
In 1997, I earned my master's in library science and was the school librarian for S.D.A. Schools of Lincoln in Nebraska for five years.
Dean had a traumatic brain injury in 1999, when we first moved to Lincoln. A tractor ran over him; was a miracle he survived. So, you might say I'm a caregiver in addition to librarian. I had pulmonary...Expand for more
failure in 2005, so I retired and have been on oxygen part-time since then. But my daughter is married and has two lovely daughters (now 5 and 7--in 2015). I blog about caregiving.
My sister, Linda, lives in Brandon, Fla. with her husband. She's a substitute teacher and he's a computer engineer. They had 5 children.
My brother, Everett, lives in Manteo, N.C. He's a web designer and she teaches English. They had 2 children.
My parents (who had the Amoco gas station at Crescent Beach for years) lived in Council Bluffs, IA, where I was born, 55 miles from where I live now. But they both passed away in 2010 from cancer.
