Life
Drat only: Retired from the Bank after 40+ years, Business owner for 12 year.I retired nine years ago and having a great time. Raised my daughter alone, my husband died young, and for a time dedicated my life to my daughter until she started college. Currently a community advocate and a Delegate for the California Democratic Party Central Committee.
Now a grandmother of 3, one girl, and two boys, have taken up the role I have always wanted to do, help my community of Boyle Heights, I love my job and enjoyed every minute I worked, however, nothing has been more rewarding than my family, and the volunteer work in Boyle Heights, my community.
When I retired and started working in the community to improve the quality of life, I realize that the culture had change so much I did not recognize my own community. However, it is a beautiful community and historical with continue multicultural living side by side. Boyle Heights is the USA port of entry in the west.

with strong family values. The power of the people is very much alive, however, we do not have the community Politicians that is needed in CD14/ Yes, we have elected officials that normally do not represent the community's interest. However, we do have Jose Huizar, as our councilmen, and Antonio Villaraigoso, both attended Roosevelt too.
As a Boyle Heights community leader of Boyle Heights, I welcome every graduate of Roosevelt to get involved in their community. Be the change for a better quality of life.
As a member of the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council 2006 - 2008, chair Quadrant 3, chair Geographical committee and President of the BH Resident Homeowners Association, founder of the Boyle Heights Toastmaster Club has giving me a pleasure just to know, I am doing something to improve my community. Now President of Boyle Heights Stakeholders Association, grassroots organization since 1985
Boyle Heights have done a 80 degree turn, it is the oldest suburb in LA, and the future of Los Angeles
