Teresa's Story

August 2009 Mom died in June, the biggest shock I have had since my dad died in 1972. Nearly all of her grandchildren and all but one great-grandchild made it home for her funeral. My granddaughter, Lilia, is 16 months old now and so darn pretty - take a look in the updated photos! Her parents, Josh and Kana, are expecting an addition in February 2010! So, between mom, and my grandchildren, I am making some wonderful changes to my life - downsizing you might say. I am moving out of so much hands-on with the inn and freeing my time up to be on the other coast more often, being a grammie and a mom. Savannah is still a dream and a passion. Jake and I love this city and all her offerings. Again, stop in one day just to say "Hi y'all". June 2008 - What's new in our lives: Our granddaughter, Lilia, whom we have yet to hold. So off to Japan at the end of August for two weeks to bring Kana and Lilia home to San Diego with our son Josh. While there, Josh and Kana will have a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony and once back in the US will also have a traditional American wedding ceremony - I hope they will pick just one date to use as an anniversary! Bought a lake front home in Littleton a year ago and hope to retire there in about five years. Just bought the home next door to us here in Savannah that we are turning into three 2000 sqft condo's with the plan to keep one for our winter retirement and the other two for income to retire on! Started another business with two other women innkeepers to promote our bed and breakfast inns here in Savannah - and have joined the world of blogging! You can see our ...Expand for more
blog at Savannahinns.com/blog. We have had so much fun tweaking life in Savannah - check our pictures in the Flickr on the right. Life 2007 Hmm, where to start? Have travelled and lived in many southern and western states, married more than once, but have children with only one, two boys, Nathan and Josh. Nathan graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Game Design and Development working for Sony Online Entertainment as an artist. The company's new game is Vanguard, Saga of Heros, a MMP RPG game (Massively Multi-player, role-playing game). His wife, Kelley, also a graduate of SCAD, is a costume designer in San Diego. Her latest line of children's costumes were featuered in the September issue of Parenting. Josh is in his last year at UCSD (University of California, San Diego) finishing his degree, a double major in International Security and Conflict Resolution and Japanese. He just returned from a year studying abroad at Yokahama University in Japan. My husband, Jake, and I fell in love with Savannah while visiting Nathan in college and just over two years ago decided to buy the very bed and breakfast we honeymooned at in the historic district. Jake kept his job and I run the 10-bedroom inn. Finally, I have in my life the man I was meant to be with and have the job I have been searching for. I have a knack for entertaining and running the inn is a dream come true. I never would have thought I would be smiling about cooking breakfast and preparing hors d'ouvres! Savannah is a captivating city full of history, romance, and ghosts. If you ever get down our way, please do drop in!
