Teresa's Story
I had a great time at Charlotte doing everything except focusing on my studies. You can call me a late bloomer, yet once I began to blossom following graduation, life was very good for a while. And then things spun out of control when I went away to community college during the summer of 1979. It took me four years following this to realize the only thing I ever really wanted to do was to become a published author. I earned an associates degree as an administrative assistant/IT, and I earned a bachelors degree in organizational management. Yet, writing short-stories and poems is my first love.During my twenties and thirties my life was very adventurous. I relaxed more in my early 30s through my early 40s. orks are in progress now. A small book of poetry will come out during this summer, and the first of a two part tragic love story will publish the end of the year. Many of my friends I went to school with at Charlotte and else where are deceased, in jail, or strung out on some form of substances.
Here I am over a half of century old, never felt the urge to use illegal substances, but I smoke cigarettes, like Heineken beer, and Chardonnay wine. During the past ten years I have made it through a long grieving period, coupled with depression of losing someone I had been with my whole adult life. It was difficult for me to start over without seeking the help of counselors, but I am here and I am well. I look forward to hearing from those who new me when I was young and dumb, as I thought I knew everything about life. Until I grew up and left home.
