Teresa's Story
Life
Since I have graduated from high school, I have accomplished more in my life than I thought I would. I went to nursing school and became a nurse. I worked a few years as a nurse, until I had a bad experience in a nursing home. I got married and am still married to a wonderful person for 20 years. I have 3 wonderful daughters. My oldest is at Wake Forest, the middle daughter is a senior in high school, and the youngest is a freshman in high school. I lost my father 8 months after my last child was born. A year and half later I took on two other children for 3 years to raise. I won th United Way Volunteer Award in 1990 fir Forsyth County. When my youngest went to Pre-K, I went to work for the WSFC Schools. I have worked for them for 10 years ...Expand for more
now. I started out as a substitute, then I was hired permanent as a BED assistant. I was moved around in different postitions until I found my true calling. After I went through some training I became the technologist for a school. During all these transitions I lost my mother in 1999. I became a Girl Scout leader 8 years ago. I have 3 troops of my own ranging from grades 4 through 12. I assist my oldest daughter with her Brownie Troop grades 1 through 3. I love doing things with these girls and love going camping. Since I love the outdoors, I am known for my love of animals. I have 3 dogs, 3 cats that stay inside all the time, and a guinea pig. I have handled many kinds of animals including an alligator. That in a nutshell is where I am today.
