Teresa's Story

Still happily married, since 1980! We're both a bit crazy, so we make the perfect pair. A little bit redneck, a little bit high tech, and a great sense of humor. What more could you ask for? He still thinks I'm beautiful, after all these years.:) We have one daughter that I am so proud of. We have one son that we mourne. Life can be hard, but we take it as it comes. Hopefully learning a little something along the way. School's Funniest moment; when I poured a large Coke over a guys head at one of our football games. He had stood me up the week before. It was freezing that night and he was with a bunch of his friends. He had on a school jacket and I loved every minute of it! Inspirational teacher; Mrs. Colleen Burke. She inspired me to move out of a bad situation to make my life better. She believed in me when no one else did. And boy oh boy did life ever get better! Within one month I met the man I'd spend the rest of my life with. High school wasn't a wild and crazy time for me. My freshman year, all I could think about was rushing home to see if my mother was still alive. She had been ill for years...Expand for more
and died that summer of '76. After that school became an escape from the "family" I had been placed with. I was one of those invisible students. You know, the kind that's there, but no body knows anything about them. Not even their name. I remember at the 10 Year Class Reunion someone coming up to me and swearing he didn't go to school with me..."he would have remembered me"...at 28 I was thin, tan, and could dance pretty good. In other words, I was noticable. Something I wasn't when we all went to Fort Hill together. That's okay, though. I am proud of who I was then, and proud of who I am now. I wonder how many classmates can say that? I am a Reiki Master and an EFT practitioner and give treatments to Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome patients, since I have both, myself. I am the vice president of Daily Pain,a non-profit organization that provides support and education for patients, their families, and the general public, including the medical community. Though I still struggle daily trying to keep a slow enough PACE to lower my pain levels, I manage to carve a fairly good life for myself.
