Teresa's Story
Life
Married in 1992, to a baker who has now become one of the state's top bakery-directors for the supermarket chain "Kings". We have three beautiful boys--Kenneth Jr, 17, John Francis, 14, and Andrew, 9. We've always stayed close but now live in Monmouth County. The boys' activities keep me busy: Cub Scouts, Wrestling, Boro Football, Lacrosse, Bowling, Religious ed. Not much time left for me. Went back to school to be a principal--maybe I just wanted to remember what it's like to be a student.
School
I loved going to Raritan, but never really appreciated it until Junior year. That was the year I had the most inspiring teachers: Mrs. Trimboli, Mr. Boyd, Mr. Tiritilli and Mr. Paulus. eunion in 2003. Going to Raritan, growing up in West Keansburg, gives me a certain perspective for my own classes of students. They still go to the same movie theaters, hang-out and shop at the same places, and think that we grew up in the same hick area and they're never going to "get out" and make it somewhere else. They don't realize all the possibilities that await them and that they can still come back and call this home.
Workplace
Working in the food service industry seemed like a great choice out of college to travel and work in a field I felt comfortable in.. But only one year later, my colleagues pointed out that I was missing my true- calling of teaching. Even Bill Hertzske knew that I'd be a teacher. So now I teach foreign languages in Matawan to middle school students. It is enriching to see the students discover that there's a bigger world out there, and they'll not always be limited to their small community if they make smart choices.
