Teresa Smith:

CLASS OF 1978
Glendale, AZ

Teresa's Story

Life After Graduation I went straight to ASU Arizona State University where I majored in partying and ruined my GPA. After three terms of dropping or barely passing the classes, I dropped out and went on a severe diet so that I could join the Air Force. In January of 83 I Joined the Military and went to Lackland AFB for basic training. I then went to Biloxi MS for Air Traffic Control Training. My first assignment was RAF WoodBridge and RAF Bentwaters in England. In 1985 I came back to the US being stationed in Albuqurque NM for two years (85-88)as a vihicle operator. I then went back to Biloxi to learn computer operations then was assigned to Homestead AFB FL where I stayed again for two years (88-89). I then got orders to Osan AB S. one year (89-90). My next assignment was the Pentagon, Washington DC, where I stayed until I got out of the service in Feb of 92. After that I lived in Mansfield TX and Phoenix AZ where I graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology in June of 99 and got a job with Alltel Information Services moving to Little Rock AR. After two years in Little Rock I then moved to the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. A year later I bought my first house in a town called Cleburne just 20 miles south of Ft. Worth and that is where I am now, working out of my house as a Computer Programmer. In October of 07 I was laid-off due to company sending jobs to India and not longer wanting mainframe programmers. I have since been going to school and earning my MCSD certification in .NET programming.
