I haven't kept in touch with many people from my class, but I do remember fondly a handful of very nice students and teachers who made extra effort to make a new student feel less alone in a big, new school. As a transfer, I ended up having to take classes out of order, so my "class" essentially covered all four grades. I enjoyed attending Signet sessions and playing sports (volleyball, softball and some basketball), and I loved working at Park View Stables along the Manassas Battlefield during and after high school. And there was a summer at Shoney's. Life has been busy but mostly good. After attending SJHS for my junior and senior years - transferring from West Carteret High School in North Carolina - I went on to Tennessee-Chattanooga on an academic scholarship and played volleyball as well. All of my family members live within 25 miles now - my parents, Bob and Dorene Boardman, retired from Prince William County Schools - and I have a nephew who soon will turn 5.
