Teri Porter:  

After High School I went to the J.C. and fell in love with photography. At the same time, I was taking classes in Early Childhood Education. I worked as a nanny and after my AA I went to Long Beach State to get a BA in Photojournalism. I married Tom Porter after College, an old high school sweetheart that I was reunited with after 10 years. We had two boys, Garrett, now 19 and Marshall 17, and they are the loves of my life. I ended up divorced and raised both my boys as a single mom and worked as a freelance photographer, owning my own business for 19 years and living in Petaluma. A few years ago I started to work at a local homeless shelter part time, with the children. I went back to school and received my site supervisor permit and I now work for the City of Petaluma as Director of their preschool. My oldest is in college and my youngest is a sr. in High School. They are both great kids and have given my life joy. My best friend from High School, Sherri Ponzo (Landrus) has been with me through it all. A great source of support, guidance and the truest meaning of the word friend. I have been fortunate in my life, I have raised two great boys who are now both in College, had a great career as a photographer that gave me lots of time with my children growing up and I am now back in school working toward my Director permit and have a great job with the city of Petaluma doing what I love. Since this post life has changed, yet again. I now commute to San Rafael and I am a Director full time at a private preschool. Both my boys are in College and I am pleased to say doing well.
