Teri's Story
UPDATE: 2/5/08: My son has taken some time off from college and moved to the Caribbean (St. John's Island) where he works for his dad's company managing multi-million dollar vacation villas. My daughter has received her first acceptance letter for colleges - University of Miami with a Dean's Scholarship. She is still waiting to hear from her first choice, Vanderbilt, where she plans to study pre-med. I met the man of my dreams last year and we will be married in May 2008. I will be traveling with him and will keep my goldendoodle dog breeding busines, and have hired a couple to take care of the dogs on a day to day basis. Life has turned out to be wonderful after a very rocky start (about 35 years of it!) and living right for the remaining 15. The Lord really turned my life around. I'll be 50 years old in August 2008 and look forward to a few wonderful decades with my new husband, physician-to-be daugther, and Jimmy Buffet son. Blessings to you all! Teri
Life
I am living south of Nashville, Tennessee, where I have been for the past 15 years. I left San Diego in 1987 and moved to Puerto Rico with my former husband who started a wireless cable television company there. While in Puerto Rico, I had my son, Christopher, who is now 19 and in college. We then moved to the San Francisco Bay area where I had my daughter, Kimi, who is now 17 and a senior in high school. We spent some time living in Groveland, CA (just outside Yosemite), and then moved to the Nashville area (Franklin, TN) when my husband obtained a new job here. Then a divorce, a remarriage for 9 years, another divorce, and I am now single and seem to better at that than being married.
No small surprise that my wild days of high school continued and I made a virtual mess of everything I touched. After my divorce from my...Expand for more
childrens' dad, I "hit bottom" and went to treatment at Vanderbilt University where I believe my life was saved by their wonderful dual-treatment program. During that time, when God had my full attention, I also became a Christian and, 15 years later, while still having had another divorce and lots of ups and downs, I'm still living a great life and am clean and sober. So much was learned during my treatment and subsequent years of being sober that many days of late I find myself wishing I could un-do all those mis-guided years from high school and change who I was then. Fortunately, for me and all those around me, those days and ways are long gone. But I certainly owe many apologies to many people for my abherrant and assenine behavior and often cruel wit -- and so I extend that to all. For those of you who have remained my friends through all these years - and God only knows why you did - thank you, and my love and gratitude will always be with you.
I am a paralegal in the health care industry and specialize in contracts and compliance issues. I also started breeding dogs to help supplement my income as a single parent and, even though my kids are grown/growing up, I found myself doing extremely well with my breeding program and it has blossomed into a full time business and I now specialize in breeding goldendoodles which I ship all over the United States. I have a website, Goldens-n-Doodles dot com (posting a website address is not allowed in this forum) that serves as my business tool for selling these wonderful animals.
I wish the best to all who visit here, and I hope to meet you again at our next Class Reunion (I was too uncomfortable attending the previous ones, but am now secure in who I have become that I look forward to the next one.) Kindest regards to you all, Teri
