Terri's Story
Life
My son just graduated from high school and my daughter turned 17 in March, she is a Junior this year. Garrett will be heading off to college in the fall and Kassi will begin her Sr. year! They are by far my greatest blessings & accomplishments! How did I get this old? I feel like it was just yesterday that I was walking the halls of HHS!!
School
I loved Mrs. Brannon!! She was great and seemed to truly understand me. I would love to go back and do it all over agian, but only if I can keep the knowledge that I have now! I guess the craziest thing that happened to me in HS was at a certain pep assembly. Yes, I am going to let the cat out of the bag. This was our Sr. year and we dressed up as "Pillow People". Pillow cases with faces painted on them. Jackets around our waist and jeans from our knees down. Basically we looked like we had huge heads and small bodies. Well we had someone in the girls locker room who took us out on the court because we obviously couldn't see through the pillow cases. We were going to dance to one song as the band played. Everyone in the stands was cracking up...So when the second song began to play, I thought that it was such a big hit that we were doing two songs...This was not the case!! I was left out on the court and the rest of the girls had been taken back into the locker room. Finally Jo...Expand for more
ey realized that I wasn't in there. I had no idea where I was at on the court and didn't really care at the time. I was too busy dancing to the song the band was playing. Thankfully a very skillful flag girl missed my head by a few inches. So if you are the person who came up to me after that pep assembly and asked who got left out there and I said I don't know...PLEASE FORGIVE ME!! I was so embarrassed!! Good times!!
Workplace
Let's see, I worked for Dr. Gerety my Jr. and Sr. year in HS. After I left Henryetta, I got married and had two children 18 months apart. I was fortunate to stay home until Garrett was 3 and Kassi was 18 months old. Then I went back to work for a Dentist in Drumright. I was there for four years. The kids were getting older and into more activities, and a patient schedule just isn't very flexible. I was blessed with the job I have today at Doug Carson and Associates. I take care of all their accounting. My boss believes that if your kids are in activities, you should be there to support them. You just don't find that very often in the business world today. I have been here for 11 years now and I can't imagine doing anything else. We also have offices in Germany, Malaysia and Japan. Can you believe that Cushing, OK is the World Wide Headquarters?! Me either, but it definitely keeps things interesting!
