Terri's Story

I married my high school heart throb, David Anderson. He played baseball (was a pitcher) at Western... who continued on to college ball and played for the Dodgers minor leagues for five years. Yes, I tagged along for a few years before we got married. We had a son Casey, born in 1982. Dave and I were together until 1990. We are still in contact and he resides in Las Vegas. I never did go to college (*pouts*) b/c I was busy chasing Dave all over God's creation, he was THE love of my life back then, ya know. *rolls eyes* Oh boy. You know how us teenage girlies can be! I wish I had done things a leeeettle differently AND GONE TO COLLEGE!! I spent 20 years living in Reno and I loved it there. I moved back to Las Vegas almost 11 years ago so I could be around my family again. Until a couple months ago, me, my sister Kim and brother Keith lived within 8 houses from each other. Kim left us and moved up to Red Rock area. The traitor. Kim went to Western ~ she graduated in 1979. She did good for herself, she's a prosecuting attorney in NLV. (Keith went to Clark so you won't know him, but he's good too :-) I am a stay home momster and married to the perfect guy ~ Michael King, a Sergeant for the LVMPD. We were married in Oct. 2001. We have an adorable three year old boy named Matthew ~ we call him Magoo. Matthew was born 2 months premature with a rare (non genetic) four fold heart defect a...Expand for more
nd he has had two open heart surgeries at Stanford. He will need heart surgeries for the rest of his life. He is still primarily fed by a g~tube and considered medically fragile. We are hopeful that technology will be on our side and he'll live a normal life. I've become a bit of an advocate for families that have medically fragile kiddos. My husband and I testified before the Nevada legislature twice. We are trying to get a bill passed that would help families obtain "state" insurance for their kids when they "run out" of private health coverage. We will be going at it again this year. Our family was featured on a CNN special several times re: the broken healthcare system. We are building a wonderful "family cabin" on our property in Beaver, Utah ~ my husband is building it himself with a local neighbor. Beaver is our little piece of "Heaven on Earth". We will move there when Mike retires. I am a conservative that listens to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity ~ and I read Michelle Malkin's blog every day. I only watch the fair and balanced Fox News. I would love to hear from some of my old school buddies. You can send an e~mail to me: tigggrr37 at aol (w/ 3 g's and 2 r's, no E) or go to my son's blog: whomagoo dot blogspot dot com ~ I have several links to our amazing story w/ Matthew. I have blog too called Steel Magnolia, you can get there from Matthew's blog.
