Terri's Story
Life
The past year has been interesting. Our oldest son graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point; I was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer (chemotherapy, surgery, radiation); my mom passed away at the age of 88; and my sister was diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
I enjoy my family, friends and work. Things can be worrisome, but all in all, life is good. And as my best friend, Paula, says, "all will be well."
School
In Arizona I had a crush on a guy named Leonard Montoya. He didn't know I was alive. In high school I had a steady boyfriend but took a shine to John Medina.
In gradeschool, Margaret Spradlin and Michael McGillicudy were my most inspiring teachers. And in high school, Cecila Moore, Mimi Scott, Bill Ishida, Joan Roberson, Edward Landon, Faye Haas and my homeroom teacher, Bob MacDonald influenced my life in positive ways.
One of the happiest moments was when I was chosen for the Jay Jacobs Fashion Board representing CHS. I thought it was the coolest one and it was great to have my picture appear in Seventeen Magazine...Expand for more

College
I had an early dismissal in high school so I could make it to an after-school job. Working meant I missed some things, activity-wise. So when I went to Jr. college I tried out for cheerleading and was chosen. Our squad was comprised of a real mixed bag - a preppie, a stoner, someone who was really bossy and a few normal ones like me :-)
Two memories from the UW include late nights at the Odegaard Undergraduate Library and getting food from the Outrageous Taco Company, which was located in the buidling in back of the house I lived in. There were lots of roommates, but one is still a close friend though it's been 30 years since then.
Workplace
The worst job I've had was as a phone solicitor for the Disable American Veterans. I would call a long list of people, asking if they had anything they would like to donate. People would swear at me and hang up on me. It was demoralising and paid almost nothing.
After graduating from the UW I worked for a year at United Graphics before starting my own business as a graphic designer. I've been in business for nearly 31 years.
