Terri's Story
Life
My husband Tom and I were married for 37 years. He recently passed away on November 8, 2008 as a result of esophagus cancer that had migrated throughout his body. He developed cancer in 2003, and he was getting a clean bill for the next three years. He started having problems again and went through chemo. The first one we were excited about because we saw some positive changes. The following chemos were not so kind, and he developed cancer in his spinal fluid. I am so proud of him and the way he fought. He was always positive and wanted our daughters, grandchildren and myself to be positive, too. He worked up until the week-end before he went into the hospital. Within two and a half weeks, he went downhill quickly. We thought we were going in to get his pain under control and go home, but that was not to be the case.

didn't get to enjoy it for as long as we planned. We are in the country, but still close to Plainfield and my work. We kept all of the things we liked about our house in Willow Pointe, but shrunk things down to a much more manageable and enjoyable size.
I keep in touch with some of my high school friends. Patsy Nickerson, Debbie Williams, Susie Trump and friend since first grade, Connie Kaestner. Recently Linda Coy and her husband moved back and I have gotten to know her so much better. The girl can make me laugh and forget any troubles hanging over my head. She is a HOOT. I would enjoy hearing from any of my former friends/classmates.
Workplace
What started out as a volunteer position for a special ed classroom back in 1982 grew into a permanent love. I have been a special ed assistant in an LD classroom all these years now. Our school site now is home for some of the more severely handicapped children, so I have been learning and loving more each day.
