Terri's Story
MY "OFFICIAL" BIO:
Terri's life-long interest in photography began at an early age; she won her first photographic competition at the age of twelve years. Her dream was delayed several decades by an early marriage and the arrival of two daughters. Terri's employment background is very diverse, ranging from bartending to secretarial work, and includes over six years in the Navy as a member of Naval Security Group. During her travels in the U.S. and Europe, Terri documented her adventures through pictures. In 2001, she decided to pursue a career in freelance photography on a full time basis, entering and becoming a finalist in several photographic contests. After a visit to Key West, Terri, her husband, their two dogs, and one cat relocated to this tropical paradise in 2004, and Terri Brentnall Photography obtained a Key West business license.
Terri has studied with the New York Institute of Photography and has taught classes in 35mm film photo finishing. She is an active member of the International Society of Photographers and International Freelance Photographers Organization. vited Terri to submit a photo for "Best Photos of " compilations for 2005, 2006, and 2007.
Her photos were on display in the historical Gato Cigar Factory office complex for several years. In 2007, three of her photos were awarded Honorable Mention from the International Photography Awards and the Prix de la Photographie, Paris. Terri has produced CD covers for local bands and a band of pirates. She has photos on display in several Key West businesses, is listed with the Florida Keys Arts Council, and, as a contract photographer, has had many photos featured in the Key West Citizen newspaper. She is under contract with the Australian-based stock photo agency Oz Images, Photo Stock Plus agency, based in Quebec, Canada, and the internet travel site WorldWeb.
Working exclusively with digital format photography, Terri utilizes the Canon EOS 350D (Rebel XT) SLR, and EOS 400D (Rebel XTi) SLR cameras, with 18-55 mm, 24-105mm "L", 55-200 mm, and 100-400 mm lenses. Her photos are edited in Photo Shop CS2 and are printed on a Canon i9900 photo printer which produces professional quality prints as large as 13x19". Terri does all the processing work, from editing to printing, and never out-sources.
