Terry's Story
Some of my favorite quotes are:
"Life is like a maze of doors and they all open from the side you're on. - Cat Stevens
Be the change you wish to see in the world. - Ghandi
In the end all that will matter is how we treated each other. - Unknown
Who is more foolish, the fool, or the fool who follows him? - Obi Wan Kenobi
Never cross your eyes or someday something may snap and they'll stay that way. - Mom
Aaaarrrrngngngnn- Chewbacca".
I really don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but what I do now for a living is pretty cool so I'll stick with that.
I work as a Digital Project Coordinator at Backstage Library Works.
My company digitizes antique documentation for university libraries and private collectors for archival and research purposes.
I've always been a little addicted to the written word so this is about the best job I can think of for someone who loves to read. I'm preserving history for future generation and I think that's pretty cool.
I live alone, unless you count the fur covered roommates I share my life with, and that's ok too. And from the Star Wars quotes, you've already figured out that I'm a bit of a nerd. Yes I do the whole roll play video games thing. (hanging me head in mock shame)
I really enjoy making music, I play guitar and have recently been thinking about taking up the fiddle. Anyway I can make music is ok by me so when I can't play something you can usually find me singing, either way, there always seems to be music rolling around in my head. There are voices in there too, but that's a tale for a different day ;)
Sarcasm seems to come easier for me than any other form of communication, I personally can't wait until they develope a font for that so I won't have to type...Expand for more
the word (sarcasm) after most of my sentences.
I am what is known as a Renratt. That just means that I enjoy going to the Renaissance Faires in the summer and being the Renratt that I am, I usually go in full renaissance regalia. Call me crazy, wearing a corset in the middle of summer can be quite hot, and carrying around all that 14th century accoutrement it a little heavy, but, what the heck, it's nice to pretend once in a while. It's almost like trick or treat for grown-ups.
Being an avid movie buff, I try to catch a film once a week when there are good ones playing, I don't listen to what the critics say, I generally don't agree with them anyway. After all, when The Wizard of Oz came out in 1938, the critics ripped it to shreds and I think they really got that one wrong, don't you?
The farthest away from home I've ever been is Ireland and that was a trip of a lifetime. The people are so warm and friendly, they make you feel at home everywhere you go. Walking down a rural street is like walking back in time and everyone who passes by, waves like you're an old friend. Driving is a little hairy though. They tend to drive like they're never going to die! And being on the other side of the road can really throw you off.
Well that's me, I've been told that I haven't changed much in looks over the years, just a few more wrinkles and gray hairs than before, but I've earned every single one of them so that's ok with me. There have been ups and downs like anyone else but I have to say I believe the good times have outweighed the bad so I guess it's been a good life all in all. Starting to sound a bit like a John Denver song here, perhaps I should quit before I start singing "Take me Home Country Roads".
