Terry's Story
I've enjoyed reading all of your stories so I do feel a little bit of a nudge to write mine. After I left high school, I took a few "side trips" and lived on the coast in Oregon, returned and attended UC Boulder for 3 semesters, back to CS, and eventually moved to Los Angeles. I planned on moving to San Francisco to attend SFSU and live with Lara (Marvin), however, she ended up getting married and returning to Boulder, sooo, I'm still here. I worked at various jobs and married in 1980, had a daughter, and was a stay-at-home mom for several years. Family Counseling and am now a therapist. I adopted my son when he was and infant, got divorced a year later, and have never remarried.
I have worked in nonprofit for several years and am currently transitioning to private practice. I also volunteer for an organization that does "emotional educational" workshops for "at risk" teens.
My daughter is 28 and lives and works nearby. My son is a high school senior and will graduate in 2010.
I keep active and spend as much time as I can outdoors bicycling, hiking, or spending time in my garden. I still love to learn and have been studying Mindfulness Meditation for the past 3 yrs.
