Terry's Story

Life Hello Artesia High Classmates... I've recently joined Classmates again after hearing Mike Landsem Passed away. I'm trying to get reconnected to his sister Paige. I left sunny Califorina in 1986 to work in Yellowstone Natinal Park. Once I came here for the summer I was hooked, and have been ever since, 20 years! And I love it... come see me and I'll be happy to be your tour guide. I never married and never had children, and I'm not gay! Being independent has it's draw backs and advantages. Not sure why the family life didn't happen to me early on, but I think it will happen later in life.... I'll be one of those! lol lol... Been there done that and now it's time to settle down and relax... who knows? I started with the Park Service in 1987, and have always worked summer seasons only. I fought the 1988 fires here in Yellowstone, worked on trail crew, worked as a painter and carpenter, I've driv...Expand for more
en heavy equipment, cleaned campgrounds, and many other small maintenance jobs that are too long to list. In 1998 I quite being a summer seasonal and bid on a local rural mail route, which I had for 7 years... it was year round and secure, but I was bored and needed the freedom of seasonal work back... I let the mail contract go this last June 2005 and went to work at the South Pole... were I was a heavy equipment operator. The job at the South Pole was from Oct 2005 to Feb 2006. Now that was just what the doctor ordered! It was one of the greatest life experiences I've had thus far... I have been home now since March 22nd, home in Montana, North Entrance to Yellowstone. And will return to a summer job in the park, and back to the South Pole in Nov.2006... and so the cycle goes... I hope some of you will write or maybe I'll see in Yellowstone... it's not that far!
