Terry's Story
Life
Much has happened in the last 20 years. Married, divorced, grew up, remarried, made great friends, bought and sold houses, remodelled and landscaped, changed jobs, changed again, travelled far and wide, and exchanged cities of residence.
Met my wife, Megan, through a corporate acquisition and convinced her to move west. Took seven months to plan running off to elope in Italy. Avoided a family crisis by repeating ceremony and reception a few months later for the family.
Had a few jobs, always related to high tech. Started as an engineer, switched to marketing, still pretend to be an engineer occasionally--3 patents, but no millions. The last 3 companies in chronological order: Proxima (5.5 years) a leading provider of multimedia projectors that enabling large-screen display of personal computer images; PRAJA (2 years) a technology start up specializing in software for producing Internet-delivered sports and entertainment content; and Intui...Expand for more
t (3 years) the makers of Quicken, QuickBooks and TurboTax financial software. Last job change brought a zip code change from 92XXX to 94XXX.
Live in San Mateo, just south of San Francisco. Always loved San Francisco and the wine country. Megan is from east coast, so the bay area feels more like home. Finally took the leap having just finished remodelling our 1928 fixer/dream house. Oops! Left great community of friends and family behind.
It's exciting living near a major city, at the epicenter of the technology business, and with so many exciting new adventures within easy access--but, I just can't get used to the cold weather! Mark Twain called it right.
We have a wonderful old house, a terrific dog and no children, as of yet, but we remain hopeful.
One thing that hasn't changed, I'm still the same kid just trying to fit into the present and looking to the future full of hope and apprehension for the adventures and opportunities yet to come.
