Terry's Story
My "Life Story" since BW:
Although graduating high school in '68, I did another year at BW to improve my marks (i.e. French) and get into college. Turned out to be a great year (remember the cafeteria coffee shop & Sheldon Kagan's psychedelic light show, The Rabble, The Haunted, MG & The Escorts, etc.)?
I proceeded on to Loyola in Computer Science, but was miserable in Physics, Chemistry, etc., so I left soon after getting my CEGEP degree. Then I spent a year and a half as a bookkeeper at a small veneer wholesaler (Montreal Wood Specialties). Discovered I liked accounting, so I went back to Loyola and got my BComm (joint major in Acctg & Finance, all the while working Saturdays & Summers at The Bay downtown since high school (aka Morgan's Dept Store: 1967-75).
Then I went to work at various branches of the Bank of Montreal and eventually had my own branch as Admin Mgr on Dorval Avenue. To further advance, I returned to University and did an MBA (Marketing thesis) at Concordia/SGWU. Worke...Expand for more
d briefly again at the bank (H.O.-Intn'l Banking), then progressed my real career in Marketing & Product Management at various large companies: CP Rail (4 yrs); Domtar (5 yrs); Standard Life (6 yrs); CP Ships - Canada Maritime Agencies (5 yrs); and over the past 16 years at IMS Health (Apr/03 - Jul/19 - now called IQVIA). I would have liked to stay much longer at some of these companies were it not for sweeping reorganizations & staff cuts that hit all levels. However, I have certainly met an awful lot of really great people over the years!
I've been married since '86 to Joyce Capogreco who worked in Purchasing Management at many major electronics & aerospace companies (most recently Pratt & Whitney). We have 1 fine son Adam (born Aug/90) who did his CEGEP in Computer Science at John Abbott and has been working for some years now as an IT Technician at the MUHC (Mtl's English super-hospital).
