Terry's Story

Life Well, life has been interesting since our last reunion. I received my Ph.D. in 2003 and am now Dr. Terry Sylvester. Can you believe it? I completed three years as an assistant professor at California State University, Fresno. The politics and constricting requirements left me no opportunity for creativity, so I left that post. I am now back in Nevada. I'm working at Career College of Northern Nevada as the chair of the General Education dept and I also work to help the instructors become better instructors. With the economic situation it is the best job I can get with my qualifications right now. I have two academic publications of my own, yay! As some of you know I've always wanted to be a publis...Expand for more
hed author, and now I am. I'm writing some one-page vignettes to self-publish in a book. I also hope to write picture books and/or young adult novels in the near future. It is wonderful to get back to the writing I love so much. We'll just see how that might come out as time passes. I've been practicing yoga for awhile now. It is the best workout I've ever experienced. I am also on an interesting spiritual journey. Hopefully it will keep me centered and clear-eyed for years to come. On that note, I also have a silver grey 3 year-old cat named Shanti. He is a pleasure and we get along quite well. I am glad to have another cat after my last one died in the Spring of 2001. I wish you all well. Stay safe.
