Terry's Story
Life
I doubt most will believe what I do now. After graduating in May I went to Texas A & M for that summer. Running out of money, I went back home and joined the Air Force. I served in Viet Nam and was on the last air plane leaving for the United States in 1973. They sent me to Rapid City, South Dakota, where I met my wife Claire. Our romance began on the last day of April, 1973, we were married on June 15th 1973 and after 43 years still going strong. After leaving the Air Force I worked for the Rapid City Police Department and attended both the University of South Dakota and Black Hills State University earning my degrees. In 1982 I moved to Trinidad, CO to teach criminal justice at their junior college. In 1999 moved to Denver to live near my Daughter, her family and my son. Now it is 2008. I got laid off from the college in 2003 and ended up in Iraq. I was an international police trainer from 12/04 until 04/2006. Came home and went to work for Summit Christian College as a Program Director until June 30, 2008. Because of their budget problems, again I was laid off. I also own a small franchise business and am working that with my son.
Now it is 2015, I sold my business, retired and became my wife's driver.
I now have 10 grandchildren, my wife is sad, a couple are like me. My oldest is 21, one in the Navy and the others raising trouble in school. Oh well.
I am still married to a great lady and we just celebrated our 43nd anniversary.
Now it is June of 2023 and we just celebrated our 50th anniversary. every ten years we have renewed our vows and this is our 6th time keeping that promise.
