Terry's Story
Life
After graduating in 77, I attended Tuskegee Institute for one year, but due to my over-the-top partying habits I was not invited back for the second year. In 78 I retuned home to Phenix City and basically hung out for 4 or 5 months then moved in with relatives in Detroit, Michigan. After living in the so-called big city for a year I came back home and joined the Air Force in 79. I was stationed at ten different bases while in the Air Force (Korea, Egypt, Philippines, AZ, NY, S.C, GA, CA, D.C, and MD) and the 23-year went by really fast. I had three different jobs while on active duty; the first 6 years I loaded bombs on B-52 and A-10 aircraft, from 85 92 I worked in electric generator and power systems maintenance, and from 93 2003 I was an electronics intelligence specialist. Thank God for retraining opportunities. During those 23...Expand for more
years I was married for 16 (divorced in 98) and I have four beautiful daughters; 24, 22, 20 and 16. My 24-year old graduated from the University of Florida in 05, my 22 year old is a wanna-be hoochie (just kidding-shes doing well and working as a teachers assistant in Orlando, Fl), my 20 year old just finished her junior year at the University of Southern FL in Tampa and is now in Spain (thanks to Dad) on a 8-week foreign studies trip, last but not least my 16 year old just finished her sophomore year of high school in Orlando. Since I retired from the AF in 2003 Ive worked at Fort Meade, MD as a Department of Defense contractor for the National Security Agency. I spend most of my free time in the pursuit of the leisure life, I love to travel and I play bass guitar in a local band called Michael K and the Populist (populistmusicdotcom).
