Terry's Story
Life
I have been married to Claranne Steul, CCHS Class of 67, since 1969. We still reside in Clarence, NY. Claranne has never left Clarence, while I was away for 3 years serving with Uncle Sam.My stateside duty was at Ft. Dix, NJ, Ft. Gorden, GA and Ft. Bragg, NC. I spent most of 1967 and 1968 in Can Tho, Mekong Delta, S. Viet Nam. I got to "celebrate" TET 1968 there. Very eventful! I "retired" from the Army in 1969.
I retired on Dec. 28,1999 as Assistant Superintendent of Town of Clarence Water after 30 years. I now do what ever I want to keep busy!
We have one married daughter, Stephanie, CCHS Class of 1989. We are the proud grandparents of Jeffery, Brandon, Regan, Liam, Jackson and Zoey. The 2 older boys are Married and Brandon is serving in the Air Force currently stationed at Eglin...Expand for more
AFB, Florida. We just found out that Brandon and his wife Amelia are expecting our 2nd great grand child!
My hobbies consist of collecting antique clocks and railroad items. Cars are still in my blood also. Having fun now with my 98 Corvette. We have also recently bought a low mileage 5th wheel camper and truck. We had sold the tow behind camper and truck that we had about 8 years ago and thought we were done camping. It was just to good of a deal not to buy the 5th wheel! Just need to decide where we are going to go.
I think my favorite memory of Clarence High School was the 1964 Band trip to Washington, DC. It was a lot of work, but Great Fun too!
My favorite memory of the Army was the day my Freedom Bird departed Saigon safely and the day my ETS (end of time in service) finally arrived!
