Thelma's Story
Life
After graduation, I got married and 2 years later Charles joined the military. We served in the Navy for 16 1/2 years before he was medically retired. In those years we had 3 children. After the Navy, he tried teaching for a couple of years in Mexico, MO. Then he went to work with DENA,Duke Energy North America, so for the last 5 years we have lived in California, New Mexico, Georgia, and finally here in Kentucky. We keep saying that we will retire in the next couple of years, but those next couple of years just get further down the road as ...Expand for more
a new adventure comes up for us. I am involved in the church, PTA, and my son's track team. Just keeping up with Charles, and the 3 kids is enough for my life to be busy. Then throw in volunteer work and the church and taking care of the High School track team, I have a very rounded out day anyway you look at it.

Charles and I have indeed discovered a new adventure. We opened a KOA campground here in Ashland, KY. I guess retirement is out of the question for a while. We are still working for God, our campground is now our mission field.
