Theresa's Story
Life
Since High School I have lived in 3 other states before settling back here in Tennessee. I have been married to a wonderful man for the last 3 1/2 years and between the two of us we have 4 children (1 12 year old boy, 2 16 year old girls, and one 17 year old girl and 1 2 month old grand daughter). I have been in accounting for 15 years and currently am a senior at the University of Memphis. I would love to hear from anyone. Most people know me as Tess, as it has been a nick name for several years!! Hope to see you all at the reunion!
School
For the most part high school was okay, just trying to fit in was hard enough. My favorite teacher's were Mrs. Smith (English) and Mrs. Acree (Algebra) without them I can only imagine what my ACT score's would have been. College/Work
After working in the public accounting arena, I came to the realization that corporate accounting is where I wanted to be. I recently began a new internship for a Telecommunications company in Memphis. I work part-time during spring and fall and full-time during the summer and plan to graduate 12/13/08. After I receive my Bachelors degree I plan to pursue my Masters in accounting (IT/Audit Specialization) at The University of Memphis, after which I will attempt to earn my certificate in public accounting. I am not sure if I will return to public accounting or remain in the corporate world, I guess I will weigh all of the opportunities as they present themselves. I know I still have a long road ahead of me, but at this point I have three months to go until I finish undergrads and have been accepted at the graduate school I have thus far maintained a 3.5 GPA, so wish me luck!
