Theresa's Story
Life
After high school I worked at the First National Bank of Boston for 2 years before I went to U Lowell (via U Mass Boston). I have a BS in Math (yes, believe it or not) and an MBA. I was married in 1991 and divorced in 1995 (no kids from that marriage). In 1995 I got laid off from a federal contracting job and then re-located to Northern Virginia. I've been here ever since. I got married in 2001 and had a son in 2002 at the age of 41! Sometimes people ask whether I am the mother or grandmother. Oh well! (blah, blah, blah...). My husband will be eligible to retire in one year, so we plan to move to Charlottseville VA (home of U VA, Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, and wine country!). My sister in-law and her family live there and it is a great place to raise our son. I do miss my family in Mass, but I really like it hear. My mother loves to visit, but she is now 81 so her visits won't be as often. My father died nearly 2 years ago at 81 (chronic lung disease). He was a retired Boston cop. There was a write up in both the Globe and Herald. One of my major accomplishments is that I quit smoking after 25 years - June of 2000. Three months after I met my husband. It was my 4th try.
