Theresa Darlene's Story
Life
May 30, 2010- I am richly blessed and loved by God. I (along with my former husband, William) have been blessed and honored to raise 5 beautiful people who love Jesus. Our oldest, Danielle lives in Minnesota. She is working at a mortgage lending company and seems to be doing very well. Our oldest son, Louis moved from Boston to New York and loving it. He is a freelance musician who has performed with some notable musicians and travelling extensively. Jonathan owns his own lawnmowing business and is doing well with it. He has just graduated from college with a degree in networking technology. Jason will be attending Clemson University in the fall, perhaps majoring in engineering. Adelina, our youngest is in high school (help me), will graduate in 2012. She loves school and plays the violin very well. William, their dad, is living and working in Charlotte, NC and doing very well. As for me, I work at a daycare center with 3 year olds and continue to take care of my family in Albemarle, NC. We have been blessed with a beautiful granddaughter named Jasmine. She is 3 years old and lives in Colorado with her mom. God is good!
School
My favorite teacher of all times was Mr. Willie Marshall. I would love to know where and how he is. Another favorite teacher was Mr. Glenn Burleigh who passed away in Oklahoma on December 11, 2007. His music lives on! My best friend in the 7th grade was LaJaunta Holmes (which I got to see at our 30 class reunion and she looked GOOD!) and my best friend in the grades 9-11 was Lavora Blackamore. My days at Tech were good days.
Workplace
I worked in the Copy Prep Department under Norma Pennington. I did paste up work and was promoted to typesetter. I enjoyed working under Lovyce and everyone in the department were all very kind to me. I enjoyed my time at Mutual of Omaha.
Military
I was the wife of an Air Force officer. I spent my first three years in Lisbon, Portugal. I met many people from other branches of the service and other countries. I will never forget the families we...Expand for more
served there. After leaving Portugal, we were stationed in Ohio (Wright-Patterson AFB). The Pentagon was the next station. We lived in Maryland. My husband retired after his tour there and we moved to his hometown in North Carolina.
October 4, 2015
My daughter Danielle has since moved to New Jersey (lived there for 3 years) and relocated to Charlotte NC. Still with the same company and performing with Charlottte Concert Band. Louis relocated to Boston and back to New York. He is a member of the house band on The Late Show (premiered September 8, 2015). Jonathan just finished 4 years with the county sheriff's department and began his new adventure with Michelin. Jason graduated from Clemson and working as an engineer in Charlotte. Adelina is in her senior year at Wake Forest. I am the office/data manager at our local alternative high school. We have been blessed with another granddaughter, Gianna, who is 3 years old. Jazmine is now 10.
In September 2010, my mother left this earth to be with the Lord. I also found out a short time later that Mr. Willie Marshall (guidance counselor-not teacher) had passed away a few days before my mother (in Florida).
June 24, 2021, This past year has been one for the history books. I acknowledge the goodness of God through all that we (on earth) have been through. Lost a lot of good people. We (my children and I) are well in NC, NY, and SC. My siblings in NE, IA, MN, TX, AK, and FL are all well. My youngest, Adelina was on the island of Barbados studying at Ross Medical University and was eventually able to come home and study online. It was a tough year for our students, teachers, parents, administrators, along with everyone else. Trusting in God's goodness and mercy.
I published my first book "To Love A Child" in 2019 (through Amazon).
