Life
Wow, where to start?! Married for 20 yrs., 1 son who just turned 19 & graduated High School w/ Distinguished Honors (top 5% in his class!) & member of Nat. Honor Soc. He also recently made the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts. Now, a Sophmore at Salisbury Univ. I am now officially an "empy nester"! (can u tell i'm a proud mom?) Anyway, back to my life. . . . Two yrs. ago I suffered a brain aneurysm & endured 3 seperate brain surgeries to get to it & clip it. Thankfully, there were no MAJOR side effects as a result. My new mottos in life are, "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" & "Take a Moment to Stop & Smell the Roses". Life is too short not to take time to enjoy!!! I have a wonderful husband, who has been able to put up with my goofy brand of humor for 20yrs. And, a son who doesn't mind having a "Dork" for a mom. What more could a person ask for? A house with a white picket fence & 2 dogs in the yard? Got that too. I refer to my dogs(a golden retriever & jack russell) as my 4 legged children. (they pretty much are) My parents moved from "Dull City" to Palm Harbor, Florida, a few yrs. ago. Now..., I have an inexpensive place to vacation! WOO HOO!!! However, the only thing I need to make everything complete is.... a visit to my front door from Publishers Clearing House!!! COME ON NOW, do not try to convince me you haven't thought about it? dying Karate a few years ago and just recently made the rank of 1st black belt! I've competed in a few tournaments and received a few medals in both sparring and kata. (yaaay me!)I also spend as much time outdoors as possible. Mainly things like, canoeing, fishing, hunting (yes, I said hunting, lol)and gardening. I'm VERY happy with how my life has turned out and I'm anxious to find out what surprises life has for me next. I'm living on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, in a small town called Preston. School
Went to community college for 2 years. I got bored and decided to go to work full time. Became a manager of a juniors clothing store at Potomac Mills Mall where I met my husband of 20 yrs.!!
Workplace
Worked as a sec./receptionist at my uncle's law firm in Calif. the summer after I graduated. Worked as a manager at a juniors clothing store for 2 1/2 yrs. Quit when I became pregnant and moved with my husband.
Also, taught Pre-school for 2 yrs.
Went to work as a part-time executive secretary for the Caroline County Board of Education. This allowed me time to also be a substitute teacher when needed.
Currently retired and doing volunteer work and keeping an eye on my son, who is now in college. Yikes!!! Am I really THAT old? (I try to remind myself that "age is just a number", right?)
