Theresa's Story
I studied acting at Northwestern University, then got an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts at a junior college in Springfield, Illinois.
While in Illinois, I married. When we moved to Connecticut for his work - he is an editor at the Hartford Courant (and a drummer) - I finished my education at the University of Hartford Art School with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design.
I put all this education to good use by having my son a month after graduation and becoming a stay-at-home mom!
My son, Keegan, is 17 and a senior in high school. He can't decide if he wants to be a film director or a theoretical physicist! Maybe he will be both, and more.
My daughter, Isobel, is 12 going on 21 (as all of you with daughters understand!) She is a dancer and a poet.
She also wants - for now - to be a photographer. Who knows what tomorrow will bring!
We have a lovely old cat named Simon and a lovely young dog (a corgi) named Bodhi, a never ending supply of fish, and - right now - a recovering pond slider. (I seem to always be taking in injured creatures. I should have been a vet.)

n went to a small, homey magnet elementary school where I spent 11 years volunteering (and then later getting a bit of a paycheck, when they created a position for me.)
I designed, edited and often wrote the monthly newsletter. I designed the annual Shin Nen Kai (Japanese New Year) shirts to raise money for the Japanese department. I also designed school logos and letterheads and bulletin boards. But mostly, I was the Science Lab Assistant in charge of the school's rather large menagerie. (Hedgehogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, rats, budgies, pea hens, ducks, various lizards, a land turtle, red-eared sliders, salt water creatures, fresh-water creatures and a charming old six-foot iguana who - I think - knew I was leaving and died in his sleep quite unexpectedly.)
Now that my kids are older, I am looking for a "real" job, a full-time job (or a winning lottery ticket!)
I don't get back to Texas very often. But there is a large group of the Class of '81 that I grew up with from grade school through graduation: you know who you are! It would be lovely to hear how everyone is doing.
