Theresa's Story
School
I can say that I would not want to do high school again. I loved being in the drum line and in the band, but aside from that, it wasn't anything I'd do over.
My favorite teachers were probably Dempsey, Battle, Skelton and Petty. They were all very supportive of me and made a difference in my life.
College
No big college stories for me. I didn't take the traditional 4 year college approach to life.
I went to Lewis & Clark Community College to get my EMT license after high school. Once I was an EMT, I took a few other classes geared toward health services through my employer at the time.
Then, I joined the Police Academy, which was a six month, full-time ordeal.

orkplace
My work life since high school has consisted of two major jobs...
I worked as an EMT in St. Louis for three years after high school. I enjoyed it, but decided it wasn't what I wanted to retire doing.
I joined the Police Academy when I was 21. On my 22nd birthday, I got hired on at a police department in St. Louis County. I have since made Detective and I'm a member of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. I work a general assignment case load (robbery, burglary, assault, etc.) but I'm in the process of being training in juvenile and sex crime offenses. I love it!
Military
No military for me...I would have liked to join, but asthma prevented that from being an option.
