Theresa's Story
Life
I graduated in 1965. I married in 1965. I moved to Tennessee and by 1968 I had two lovely children. I began working on a degree in teaching in 1969 and by 1979 I had a Masters' Degree. I began teaching in 1973 and retired last May. My husband and I will celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary, May 15. I have five gorgeous grandchildren and with time on my hands I have begun trying to connect with former classmates and friends. I have taken to retirement like a duck takes to water.
School
Mrs. Elsie Barber inspired me in high school. She had polio and had written a book called "The Trembling Years." One of my happiest high school memories was attending a ...Expand for more
"surprise" birthday party. It did my heart good to know that my friends cared enough about me to spring this great surprise.
College
There are not many college days here as I attended after two children had arrived and driving to and from the university
was the extent of this experience.
Workplace
Flipping burgers at the Patio Frosty at the age of 15 brings back many memories. I was a student and stay at home mother until I graduated from college and finally began teaching. Teaching was a worthy and rewarding career.
Military
I was a military wife and mother. We spent a few months stationed at McClellan AFB until we moved to our home now in Tennessee.
