Therese's Story

"Roll with the Changes...." You've heard of.... "6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon"? Everyone knows Someone!! Trying to fit over 40 years, in this itty-bitty space is going to be tough for a motor-mouth like me! Most people at Einstein Junior and Madison High knew me as Theresa or Terri. I became weary of trying to pronounce and spell my name correctly for others. Oh, and I suppose I was kinda loud, bold and boy crazy (NO! REALLY?!?!) I also worked at "The Whistle Stop", the Hangout across the street from Madison, my Senior year. That was so much fun, although I might have paid too much attention to friends, then actually worked (not to mention cut Government class to start my shift!). After I was forced out of Madison, kicking and screaming, I decided a formal higher education wasn't for me. I did try some College/Medical Tech courses the years after Graduation, but I didn't want to waste time. I had to go to work and earn a paycheck! I discovered my best education was living LIFE, and reading everything I could get my hands on. My Best Friend, Sue Tucker (Albright) and I, took a road trip to Dallas Texas, a couple of months after Graduation. Yep...it was our "Excellent Adventure"! Even now, we remain as close as sisters. 40 years later.. and we still crack each other up! My other life long "sister" friend Roberta G. (Sullivan)went to Clairemont HS. These girls are FAMILY!! Many an odd job later, I settled into the longest adult relationship of my life with The Company I had been with since January 1986. I have been in Hospitality/Resident Relations/Security/Property Management with this Company. We have property on Mission Bay, and other locations in California. As of September 2011, I retired after 25+ years. I'm looking to find a New Company to work for...in the same fields, for I get bored easily and need to be Social. Hey...a paycheck would not hurt either! I was married in 1986, to a nice man that shares with me, a terrific son. My marriage ended in 1996, but very amicably. My ex-husband was raised in Holland and Curacao. We remain cordial to this day. I've been lucky to have had been to Europe twice. I absolutely fell in love with London, England. I KNEW I'd make it there someday! Someday, I'd like to go back to both England and Holland. I...Expand for more
haven't changed much when it comes to my life long "loves". Sports, Music, art, writing, Mother Nature and animals, still factor strongly in my life. Still a faithful SD Chargers follower, and fell in love with the SF Giants MLB Team when we lived in Northern CA. My son, Ian...is my pride and joy. He will be 26 in December 2012. The time watching him grow up, went by in a flash. He is a bright, shy, reserved young man (Which shocks me, MY KID quiet and solitary?) but he did inherit my warped sense of humor and interest in Science. I've got my fingers crossed, that he grabs onto his dream of becoming a published Author. His Novel is now finished, and we are shopping it out!!! One day, He hopes to get a Pilot's License as well. I am also blessed with many "in my heart-grand nieces and nephews", plus an adorable "glam-baby girl" of 6. These kids mean a lot to me..even if they are not blood related. I thank their wonderful Mommies and Daddies, whom I have known since they were in their teens/early twenties. I moved to Sonoma, CA (North East of San Francisco) in August '06, for a job opportunity. I liked Wine Country, the area is calm, peaceful and full of open space. I was shell-shocked the first few months there. I left my PB-Clairemont-San Marcos homes of 46 years, concrete, noise, traffic, the Beach, malls..and landed in "Mayberry RFD"! That's what living out in the country, feels like. BUT, San Diego IS MY HOME. It will forever be part of my heart and soul. I returned to San Diego County in January 2012, and am slowly adjusting to "BIG CITY" life again! Joining up here on Classmates, was one of the many, many things on "MY BUCKET LIST". There is nothing as fun as looking back and sharing those fun, goofy times of JR/SR High School. I gave plenty of people the opportunity to laugh with me, oh hell, even at me, and I don't mind that at all. There are some Friends/Teachers from Einstein Jr High, Madison High, and..even though I didn't "attend" Clairemont High School, friends there too, that left their impressions on my life. They just might not know it! I hope to find these people, just to simply say, "Thank you for making my Junior/Senior High School Years so very special and FUN" and "What have you been up to these last 40 or more years"?
