Michael Ann's Story
It was hard going to 3 different high schools but looking at the profiles of former classmates on this site sure takes me back and helps me remember some of the good times!!
Right after high school I began working in an entry position with the state regulatory agency that oversees the Arizona dairy industry. Moving up the ladder and switching sides to the industry being regulated, I continued to work until November of 2000 when I found myself with the desire to lessen the stress in my life and with the ability to retire. I jumped at the opportunity and haven't looked back.
Initially, my Type A personality prevailed and I found it difficult to slow down. Safety and we moved to the White Mountains of Arizona, where we had been spending a considerable amount of time. Because I love to cook, my biggest gripe about the area is the lack of really great grocery stores. Other than that, I love it here! The temperatures are generally about 20 degrees cooler than those in the Phoenix area and we see more of the seasons. There are activities galore right outside our doorway where we enjoy the clean air and spend time hiking, bicycling, quad riding, wildlife watching and fishing.
Earlier this year I must have found myself with too much free time because that is when we decided to add two puppies to our household -- a Keeshond and a Golden Retriever. What a change that was - perhaps not the smartest decision, but a fun one!! They are very active and keep us busy.
The last 34 years seem to have flown by. Although there were trials and tribulations, I believe life has been good to me. Even in the tough times, I've followed my philosphy to "Look for the Bright Spot" and have generally been able to find a good outcome.
Thanks for taking the time to catch up with me. Maybe we'll hear from you or see you in our area!!
