Thomas's Story
Well a lot has happened since High School. I hope every one is doing well. I went into the Navy right after High School. I got out of boot camp in Sept. of that year and was sent to Orlando,FL. for A-School. After that I went to Sub School in Grouton,CT. were I got into some trouble. After I got through that, they sent me to a surface ship. The ships name was the USS Trippe. Now think about it for a second, they just sent a party animal like me to a ship with a name like that, cool! The ship and all my friends on bored live up to its name. The ship's Captain had the song Back In Black by AC/DC played over the intercom when we pull into port. Looking back on all that I really enjoyed the whole time I was there. But like most people, I felt I was missing out on something. So I got out in the fall of '81. It was hard to make the change, I had to actually work to make a living. So I went back in for two more years. I got sent to Pennscola Naval Air Station that is were the Blue Angles are station. I work in a Legal Office. I type up orders for people who were going to the Brigg. That's jail if you didn't know. In the summer of '83 I moved back to Norwich. I had a job at the Victory Food Store on Main St. That winter was hard ...Expand for more
on me. I wasn't use to the snow and cold. By the spring of '84 I wimp out and moved to Bradenton FL. were my Mom & Dad were. I got married in '85, we had are first child in '86, It's a Girl!!!!! I decided it was time to get a real job so I went back to School. It was at Mantee Vo-tech. I wanted to become a Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Tech. It only took 14 months before a company in town was looking for someone. They came to the school to interview me. I was head of my class. Its funny how having kids can make you grow up. The house we were living in caught fire. We lost just about everything, but everybody was okay. I wanted my wife to see were I grow up, so we moved to South New Berlin. I got a job on a farmer there. It was like a working vacation for us. In the summer of '89 we had are second child, It's a Boy!!!!! My son was born in same Hospital I was. I thought that was cool! We decided that we would move back to Florida before winter. In '94 we had are third child, It's a Girl!!!!! I got divorced in '97. She decided to move to Texas with her boyfriend. I got all my kids in the summer of '00. She decided they were holding her back, she's a loser! My kids keep me young and on the move. They are 22,19,& 14. I'm a grandpa, my daughter Jessica has two girls 4&5. They live with me to,it's a house full.
