Thomas Cummings:  

Life I grew up on the southwest side of Chicago at 64th and Lorel, went to Grimes Elementary for Kindergarten through 6th grade. Then it was on to Alexander Fleming for 7th and 8th grade. I started high school at John F. Kennedy High School on th SW side of Chicago in the fall of 1968. I came to Bloom HS for my 3rd year in September of 1970. In April of 1970 I was hit by a car while riding my bike home from school. It broke my left leg and I had a cast on it from my toes to my hip for 5 months. In July of 1970 we moved to Chicago Heights. I came to Bloom HS for my 3rd year in September of 1970 and graduated in June of 1972 from Bloom. I then went to work at Hal Lieber's Bowling and Trophy Shops that was managed by a friend's father. A few years later I went on to their main store in Gary, IN, moving to Hammond then Crown Point to stay close to work. I was into bowling at that time, averaging 190-200. Those were some of my favorite years. My bowling ended when my brother asked me to come into the insurance business with him in 1988.
