Thomas's Story
Had a 41 year career in the US Air Force. Spent the first 13 years enlisted as a B-52 Tail Gunner with a number of ARC Light tdy's out of McCoy AFB on Orlando, FL. Additionally, spent a single year PCS in Guam taking my wife of a little over a year and 9 month daughter. Guam in 1971 and 1972 was a significant adventure for the 3 of us as we experienced the 32 mile long by 8 mile wide island. Participating in Linebacker II helped us to remember the privilege of living in the US! Returned to the states to full time studies (while still active duty) at the U. of FL., earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. s). After school, attended Officer Training School and received a commission as an officer spending another 13 yrs with the AF's U-2 program. Another 15 years was spent as a civilian consultant to the U-2 and Special Operations Forces C-130s. Fully retired in 2008. Have spent the last 12 years traveling overseas and across the US in a motorhome. It has been a great time after marriage for 50 years (same wife) and 3 grown children. God is good and has blessed us tremendously. Only attended Goldsboro HS my senior year (attended Gattis Jr High, 7-9th grades, and Clovis HS , 10-11th. Fondly remember those 5 years in NM (especially the Gattis days) even though I didn't graduate with them. Tom
